Among the many gifts of God to us are financial resources. A founder of the Methodist movement advises each of us to:
Earn all you can. Save all you can. Give all you can.
John Wesley
Earn. We are not called to unnecessary poverty, but by moral means to develop our financial resources. Some of us will be gifted in this. Others have other meaningful gifts to develop.
Save. At the same time we are advised to live frugally using our financial resources to fund legitimate basic needs. Lest we over exaggerate our real needs, John Wesley lived on 10% of a middle class income.
Give. With what is saved we are advised to do all the good we can. John Wesley was thus able to give 90% of his income to works of compassion. Our wealth of whatever kind (financial, time, talent) is meant to be expended for others in deeds of loving kindness. By the blessings of God we are able to bless others.
Your donations will let us reach out to our community, help those in need, provide Christian education and offer new services to our congregation.
