WHAT'S HAPPENING AT BEAR CREEK

  • VBS Mission Project: Backpacks

    We’re taking donations this week to help supply backpacks for local children:

    •          100s of kids in the area need backpacks for school!
    •          We partner with Centro Cultural Mexicano to understand the needs of the children in our greater eastside neighborhood(s).
    •          We’d love to collect backpacks throughout this VBS week! Or cash donations that we can then use to go and purchase backpacks by August 10th so they can be distributed to children at an event mid-August. Thanks for all your support & care.
    •          There will be a bin in the church lobby for donations.  Questions?  See Estefania or Danielle.

  • Campfire Night

    Sat, aug 16 @ 6pm

    Come sit by the crackling of the fire with friends! We'll have a casual gathering, singing favorite campfire songs and maybe even making s'mores. Bring a friend! 

  • Brews with Brook

    Sun, Aug 24, 4-6pm

  • Blessing of the animals

    Bring your pet for a fun, outdoor worship experience as we bless all of God's creatures! Please be sure that dogs are leashed and other pets are properly contained.

  • Camp summit Sundays

    monthly on the 1st sunday @ 11:15-1

    This special monthly activity for kids is fun for all ages! Kids split up by age, and enjoy age-appropriate crafts, games, lunch, and time with friends! Bring a friend! 

  • Youth Summit

    monthly on the last sunday of each month, 11:15-1pm

    Hey 6-12th graders, this is YOUR time for fun, games, activities, stories, FOOD, and hanging with friends! Join us each LAST SUNDAY of the month, from 11:15-1pm for Youth Summit.

  • Women at the Well

    Weekly on Tuesdays @ 10am

    A group for women of all ages, focusing on Bible study and relationship-building. Every Tuesday at 10am. We ARE meeting through the summer.

  • Going Deeper

    Weekly on Sundays @ 11:15am

    Each Sunday after worship, we go deeper on the topic of the day. No prep required, just come and share your thoughts! We learn best together.

  • Book Club

    Monthly on second tuesdays @ 6pm

    Join us for a lively discussion of a wide array of books -- fiction and non-fiction, fun and educational -- each month. Contact Connie for information on this month's topic!

  • Help settle refugee family

    Bear Creek is supporting a family of 10 who have come to the United States fleeing persecution. We are currently assisting them in setting up their new home. To support them, check out this Amazon Wishlist. 

  • Bring a dish for safe parking

    We regularly provide meals for the families living in their cars at Safe Parking @ LWUMC.

  • Weaving together the stories of forgotten women

    This summer, we will be looking at stories of women in the Bible that often get overlooked. Women had an enormous impact on the lives of Jesus and Paul, as well as throughout the history of Israel, but are often forgotten because of the patriarchal ways we have learned to read scripture.
